This is the genuine Mr12Volt P3000 kit for early Audi A4 B8 and A5 8T models fitted with MMI 2G High, the system Audi used on these cars before MMI 3G arrived in 2009. It adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to your factory colour screen, so you keep the original dashboard, MMI controller and steering wheel controls. Because it connects through your Audi’s MOST fibre optic network rather than the AUX input, your factory sound system carries on working exactly as it does now. Use Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze, stream music and take hands-free calls from the screen your car already has.

How it works

• Your car keeps its original MMI system. Mr12Volt is accessed through the Media menu: select CD to launch CarPlay or Android Auto, and switch back to the factory MMI screens at any time using your MMI controls.
• If your car has a factory CD changer, let us know when you order and we’ll advise on what’s needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if my Audi has MMI 2G High?
To be sure, press SETUP next to the MMI controller and open the version screen. On an A4 or A5 with MMI 2G High, the first line reads SW: B8-HU. If it shows a software version starting BNav, HNav or HN+, your car has MMI 3G and needs our MMI 3G kit. If you’re not sure, send us your registration and we’ll confirm it.

Will this kit fit my Audi A6, A8 or Q7?
No. Those models use a different MMI 2G High unit and have their own kit, the Mr12Volt MMI 2G High kit for the A6, A8 and Q7.

My A4 or A5 is a 2009 car. Which kit do I need?
2009 was a changeover year, so check your version screen first. If the first line reads SW: B8-HU, your car has MMI 2G High and this is the right kit. 2009 cars also need an extra cable, so add a note at checkout and we’ll include it. If your version starts BNav, HNav or HN+, you need our MMI 3G kit instead.

Will it work with MMI 2G Basic?
No. This kit isn’t compatible with MMI 2G Basic, the version with the small monochrome display. It needs the MMI 2G High colour screen.
