The split is not where most people expect it, because Land Rover changed the head unit partway through the L320's life as well as when the L494 replaced it. Find your car in the table, then read the section underneath, because cars registered in 2011 and 2012 sit right on a changeover and cannot be settled by year alone.

Your car needs a USB option in the factory media menu, because the kit connects in place of the factory USB module, which is disabled during installation using the optical bypass connector supplied in the box. And the next and previous track buttons on the steering wheel are not supported on this kit, an OEM control limitation rather than a fault. Everything else on the wheel, including volume and phone controls, carries on working.
